General Info

Tucked away at 195 Daimuracho, 横浜市緑区 Kanagawa 226-0014, Japan, Sunrise Indian Cuisine feels like one of those places you’re genuinely glad you discovered. From the moment you step in, the atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, making it a great spot whether you’re planning a casual dine-in meal or bringing along family for something a bit more special.

The menu is thoughtfully put together, offering a balanced mix of classic Indian flavors and approachable dishes for all kinds of diners. One of the first things that stood out during my visit was the variety of staple options like Nan or Rice, both of which pair perfectly with the rich, aromatic curries available. The Nan, in particular, came out warm and slightly crisp on the outside, soft on the inside-exactly what you’d hope for.

Moving on, the Sunrise Special Salad was a refreshing surprise. It added a lighter touch to the meal, which complemented the heavier dishes really well. Then came the highlight: Tandoori Chicken (タンドリー チキン). It was beautifully seasoned, tender, and had that signature smoky flavor that makes this dish so memorable. Paired with a chilled 生ビール, the combination felt satisfying without being overwhelming.

What also makes Sunrise Indian Cuisine stand out is how inclusive and comfortable it feels. The restaurant offers wheelchair accessible parking and seating, which is a big plus for accessibility. Families are clearly welcome too, thanks to a dedicated kids' menu that keeps younger diners happy while adults explore the richer flavors on the menu. And if you’ve got a sweet tooth, the dessert options round off the meal nicely without feeling like an afterthought.

In terms of overall experience, the service is smooth and attentive without being intrusive. It’s easy to settle in, enjoy your food, and take your time. The location itself is convenient, and based on the steady flow of guests during my visit, it’s clear that this spot has built a solid reputation among locals.

Reading through reviews and experiencing it firsthand, Sunrise Indian Cuisine delivers a consistent, enjoyable dining experience. It’s the kind of place where you can come back multiple times and still find something new on the menu to enjoy, all while knowing the quality will be reliable every time.

What customers say?

“ i really love their curry and naan !! i always eat them with delivery so i don't know shop's atmosphere. but i'm sure all of meals are fantastic !! ”

“ Restaurant atmosphere is good like you are in india, and staff is very friendly, they can speak English too. Its Nice ”

- Ivander Green -

“ The naan and lassi were delicious! We ordered three types of curry and all were delicious. The spinach curry was rich and tasty. Even children could eat it mildly and it was well received. The keema curry was also delicious. The shop at the north exit was also delicious, but personally I prefer the refreshing yogurt lassi and the rich curry with beans. I was also glad that the curry didn't contain the spicy chicken tikka. The restrooms at the north exit are cleaner and have a better atmosphere. The north exit is good because you can watch Indian-style images on the TV. It's a shame there isn't a TV here. The balance between taste and price is good. ”

“ The lunch chicken curry set was 750 yen. It's a great price considering many curry restaurants are raising their prices. The salad has a double sesame and orange dressing. It comes with shredded cabbage and lettuce, and the iced coffee drink that comes with the set is generously sized. The naan was crisp and crunchy from the first bite. It's more crunchy than chewy. The curry sauce is a creamy, almost non-sour or spicy flavor, and quite mild (I ordered a sweet version). There were four firm pieces of chicken, but it didn't feel cheap, so at 750 yen, it might be better value for money than any other restaurant... ”

“ If you're in the area and want to eat Indian curry, this is the place to go! If you come to this restaurant, be sure to order the momos (500 yen) to go with your curry! They're like spicy Indian xiaolongbao and are juicy and delicious! This time I ordered the lunch set (750 yen). It comes with salad, curry, naan, and lassi! The hot naan has a sweet, chewy texture that's irresistible! What's more, you can eat as much naan as you want at lunch! This is a restaurant that leaves you feeling very satisfied. ”

“ Go up the stairs and open the door on the left to enter the restaurant. The door looks a bit like a toilet door, which is a bit confusing. The inside is quite spacious. I ordered the Sutto, which comes with a choice of two curries. The naan was soft and fluffy, just my preference. This is entirely a matter of preference, and some people may prefer something crispier. For the curry, I chose beans and vegetables. Both were delicious. This includes all-you-can-eat naan, salad, and a drink for just 900 yen including tax, which is a bargain. Even if you choose naan, a little bit of rice is included. It's been a while since I've found a restaurant that suits my tastes. ”

“ This Indian restaurant replaced Singha, which previously stood there. This is my first visit this year. The prices have gone up (lol). (ノ∀`) Ouch! It's on the second floor, but the stairs are quite steep. The spiciness of the curry changes with each new chef. I always order the regular level of spiciness, but sometimes it's sweet or spicy. (ㆀ˘・з・˘) But the staff are very nice and always greet me cheerfully. I always go there for lunch, and I always order the Sunrise Set. Two types of curry, naan, tandoori chicken tikka, seekh kebab, salad, and drink. ”

“ August 16, 2025, 12:12 PM Obon holiday There were a few seats available, but it was busy. February 16, 2025 I visited the restaurant for the first time in a while. The staff had completely changed. The interior decorations had also changed. It may seem intimidating at first glance, but once you're inside, it's just a normal restaurant. The interior lighting seems handcrafted and is fun to look at. You can choose the spiciness level, and it's delicious! I recommend the C set, which lets you enjoy two flavors. ”
